Background
---
When Dragonball Z appeared on the Dutch television in 2001/2002 I discovered a whole new world of animated movies. Though, I didn't have a (decent) internet connection by then, so I couldn't learn more about anime. Note anime was pretty unknown here in The Netherlands, besides DBZ and later Pokemon. My love for anime was completely revitalized when I bumped into a few of Natalies Kiddy Grade walls while browsing the internet (broadband now). I loved the walls, immediately downloaded and watched the series. At the same time, I found work in a supermarket and discovered one of my colleagues (~irritatedpizza here on AP) was a beginning anime-lover as well. Together we downloaded and shared more and more series and I also managed to hook another friend of mine to the anime-craziness (with the same sharing as result). In the meanwhile the entire Asian culture has put her arms around me, made me listen to J-pop/J-rock (High and Mighty Color) and watch Asian movies.

Via Natalies website I came in touch with AP, immediately loved it and signed in. I slowly started to spread my wings here, being active in the Motherboard section of the forums, participating in banner contests, joining several groups and eventually submitting my own walls and starting a group (AP Overclocking).

My walls
---
My first wallpaper (Between the City and the Sky) was an unexpected success, but I really liked making it and reading the positive replies. The dark wall does suit my likings, but not really my style. I find it very hard to work with realistic, grungy backgrounds, hence my future projects are all vectors. I really enjoy working with the pen tool, as you can put a lot of creativity into it, drawing some extra things and easily change colors or lines. Still, I love making 'themed' walls, from my background as sig-maker for gaming forums, like my first wall (Sin City theme).
I often ask myself why my first wall was such a success, the answer might be that I'm always very critic about wallpapers and I don't want to submit something if I wouldn't download it myself if the wall wasn't mine. I'm a perfectionist, which sometimes drives me crazy as my Photoshop skills can't always keep up with my ideas ^^.
